Emirates Golden Call: Received!

I am so happy right now that my ‘Golden Call’ has finally arrived! I was trembling during the entire call and it was simply the best call of my life! So here it is, 29th of April is the day that I will make the biggest move of my life. Not everyone gets to make their dreams happen, and I am so blessed that I have tried to chase it no matter how consuming the whole process was. As impatient as I am, I never thought that I would be able to wait for this very moment. Maybe deep within me this is the only path I know, to fly and become part of the Emirates Airline family.

As I picked up the phone, the lady on the other line asked “How are you?” she sounded so lovely with a bit of an American accent, and then she proceeded with her questions:

  • Are you single or married?
  • Are you flying out from Tokyo Haneda Airport?
  • Is this the same airport that you want your ALD (Annual Leave Destination) firm ticket to be booked into?
  • How long is your notice period?
  • Have you been to the United Arab Emirates before?

She advised me to wait within two to three days for my password and login details for me to access the Selected Candidates Portal.

    • Thank you so much, Alessia! Regarding the tattoo, there are certain body parts where tattoos are prohibited. If it is visible whilst wearing the IN-FLIGHT MEAL SERVICE uniform, you will have to remove it. And I am sorry, so far I don’t know anyone who applied with a tattoo. I am wishing you all the best, and have a great day! Once again, thank you so much!

Hi Ryu. I stumbled upon your blog while searching for a miracle golden call’s story. I attended a recruitment day in Malaysia on March 2016. It was from one of the Middle East Airlines company as well. It’s been 7 weeks since my FI with them. I found out that 2 weeks after the FI, some of us received their golden email. Until now, I am still waiting (hoping) for a reply from the recruitment team. They said they will email us the golden email or rejection email once they’ve made their final decision. Since it’s already passed a month, does it mean that I am unsuccessful? I was wondering why some people find out sooner than others? Or does it mean they’re still deciding on whether the others are successful or not? Thank you for your feedback.
